Winter is here, so is the problem of electricity shortage AGAIN. Currently, citizens of Khujand are receiving electiricty and gas supply 3 hours per day only; With all it's hydro power potential Tajkistan is still behind and people are hungry for electricity! Small generator business is booming; So if you are in a generator business this is the time to get in; Investing in electricity at this time could bring good results in coming years.
To follow up on previous posts. Road from Aybek border and Khujand is at it's final stages, so if you are traveling via Tashkent, this cold be the quickest way to reach the Northern part. Updates on other roads connecting Khujand is coming soon;

Today I have visited a nicely organized blog and wanted to share the news about electricity in Tajikistan. The limit has been lifted and finally I can watch BBC news late evenings. It is a great feeling to have electricity at home!!!
Investors wanting to invest in Tajikistan should consider investing in small dams here. Recently local news reported a person generating electricity using a tracktor engine. He has invested almost US$ 2,000 to build the hydrogenerator. However, I wish our government creates a programme to support this kind of business. Although he has made the electricity for his village, it would have been nice to receive insentives if connected to national grid. I don't know what our law makers are working on...

Chinees are contributing a lot of money to fix Tajik roads. Currently they are working from Aybek border of Uzbekistan to Khujand and from Khujand to Kanibadam and Ura-Tube roads. It looks like soon businesses will flow to Northern Tajikistan. With the weather now becoming warm they just might finish it early. Today for example after a long week of rain it is 23 degrees centigrate outside.
So anybody wishing to travel on these roads should use TOYOTA Land cruiser or similar vehicles. You can rent vehicles from private persons if you arrive to Khujand or Sughd Region. If you are not familiar just send me an e-mail and I can put you in contact. If you are looking to travel to Tashkent through Khujand, a renting of a vehicle can also be arranged at costs between US$ 60 - $100 depending on the vehicle. However, I would recommend TOYOTA with airconditioning again for roads here.
Recently couple of people have contacted and wanted to know about hotel bookings as well. This can also be arranged just send me an e-mail. Ticket purchases are not a big problem nowdays. The good news is that Tajikistan Airlines has approximalty 5 flights per day to Dushanbe.
If you are looking for appartment rentals and would like to travel to mountains, just drop me an e-mail and all will be taken care. For bird and mountain lovers this year is the time to get out and visit Tajikistan, especially Shahristan mountains.
